Here is an amazing video of 20 million Mexican free-tailed bats exiting the Bracken bat cave between Austin and San Antonio, Texas. Click the link above and load the radar image. At first you will notice some blue and green to the south and northeast of San Antonio. At around 7:45 PM (clock is on the top left of radar) bats begin to appear and expand just north of San Antonio. The DARKER SHADES OF BLUE ARE BATS, not the lighter. The light blue is tree and ground clutter. Other dark shades of blue appear in other areas indicating more bats. The dark blues and greens to the south which enter the image around 1:05 AM are showers, not bats. Enjoy.
